What is Music Therapy?

Music therapy is "the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program". Music therapy is used to create, devise, and structure music in a way that is beneficial to reaching the client's goals.

What to Expect at Your Visit

The first music therapy session will include an assessment. The music therapy assessment allows the client and therapist to get to know each other, helps to outline goals and expectations, and give examples of how those goals might be achieved through music therapy. From there, a treatment plan will be created, while keeping track of client's progress through each session.
